Oklahoma man facing drunk driving charge after crash with police

Incidents involving accusations of driving under the influence are often complicated. In some cases, individuals may have a hard time determining how they would like to address the drunk driving charges brought against them. An important first step to take is to assess the situation and learn more about defense options that could help parties work toward the outcomes they desire.

It was recently reported that one man in Oklahoma was taken into custody after a recent accident involving a police vehicle. Apparently, the man was approaching a stop light when he failed to stop and collided with the back of the police car. The man claimed that he was having a conversation and did not stop his vehicle in time. Officer's stated that the man's speech was slurred, and he was unable to form complete sentences.

The man reportedly fell asleep in the back of the police car and had to be woken up for field sobriety tests. The man also purportedly had a firearm on his person and one in his pickup truck. As a result, he is currently facing charges for felony DUI, carrying a firearm while under the influence and other allegations. At the time of the report he was still in custody as against an $8,500 bail.

When dealing with criminal allegations, anyone accused faces a unique predicament. The man involved in this Oklahoma incident may want to make sure that he understands the drunk driving charges and other allegations that have been leveled against him. This information may help him decide how he would like to create and present his criminal defense.
