Oklahoma man charged with drunk driving after collision

In the moments after a car accident or other difficult event, individuals may act without thinking due to the shock that they experienced. The situation may become even more daunting if authorities charge a person with drunk driving. Soon, the accused individual may be facing a considerable amount of stress when working to deal with the allegations.

One man in Oklahoma may be feeling a bit overwhelmed after recently being taken into custody. Reports stated that the man was driving a vehicle around 11:30 p.m. when his truck collided with another vehicle. The car had apparently run out of gas, and the woman driving that car was attempting to get it off the road at the time of the collision. As a result, the woman became trapped under the man's truck.

Police arrived at the accident scene, and the man allegedly stated that he did not care that he had hit the woman. Authorities purportedly noted that the man's breath smelled like alcohol. He was taken into custody on a charge of driving under the influence. The report stated that the woman had suffered only minor injuries in the incident.

As this Oklahoma man reflects on the accident, he will undoubtedly feel relieved that the woman was not seriously injured. Of course, he will still need to determine how he wants to approach the drunk driving allegations leveled against him. For his particular case, any number of criminal defense strategies could be applicable, and it may be wise for him to review his various options to determine which may best suit his case.
